Painting outside, also called Plein air painting, is a great challenge and, in addition to a wonderful training in the outdoors, always provides new insights into your painting process! Master landscape painters swear by this adventurous way of painting because it is precisely the own unique experience that you add to a painting. 

The Veluwe

The Veluwe is a unique piece of nature in the Netherlands. The many heath hills alternating with sand drifts provide beautiful views. And the many striking trees such as pines and oaks make it a fascinating location for painting. The many animals (deer, wild boar, wild horses, Scottish highlanders, sheep, etc.) give the area an exceptionally dynamic character.

Wencke Vinks is a full-time painter and regularly paints in the Veluwe. She is happy to take you on a journey to conquer the landscape step by step with paint and brush in a relaxed atmosphere! Difficult? Exciting? Especially very nice and a gift for yourself. Moreover, it is also educational! 


Structure of the plein air painting workshop

• Different ways to determine a fascinating composition in a short time.

• You will learn how to use and combine perspective in different ways.

• How to deal with changing daylight in the landscape and on your palette.

• How to best observe a complex landscape and translate it into beautiful, clear brushstrokes on your canvas in simple steps. 

• Foundations and relationships between tonality, drawing skills and color are all discussed in detail. 

• You also learn to deal with materials, mediums and the arrangement of your painting equipment.

• Wencke gives two short painting demonstrations, after which you get to work yourself.

Who is the plein air painting workshop for?

The workshop plein air painting is for all levels. You can register for this. The painting groups consist of a maximum of 10 participants, appointed in advanceregistration is therefore desirable.

Cost

The 1-day workshop is from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM including materials, lunch, tea and coffee, costs € 195,-
Workshop 'Plein air' by Wencke Vinks is a unique opportunity to paint 'plein air' on the Veluwe. The workshop will take place on the above date.
Minimum 6 and maximum 10 participants.
