Model Drawing

Drawing model is a 10-part lesson in which you will draw a model in charcoal.

Structure of the lesson

​

During the lessons we will work with a model pre-selected by the teacher, which we will draw in charcoal. 

​

This method teaches you how to create tonally very strong portraits in charcoal.

With this method you learn to trust your own perception and develop the necessary sense of form and tone.
 

During the lessons we work with an existing image of a model chosen by the teacher, which we learn to copy in charcoal. We then work with nitram charcoal and charcoal pencils from the General brand in different hardnesses. It also shows how to sharpen these sticks and pencils to a nice point. We work with the so-called Sight-Size method. This means that you copy the image 1 on 1. First we set up the portrait with light lines, which are easy to correct. Once all the proportions are in the right place, we will continue to build up the portrait tonally in order to work towards a very strong, similar and beautiful portrait in charcoal.

It's one of the best ways to master drawing portraits!
